This is a rough guide to what is in season in any given month but ripening times may vary by a month or more from year to year, so bear that in mind. Also, the number and variety of mushrooms one is likely to find will go in cycles that span more than a decade. Last year and the year before, they were amazingly prolific and highly varied but that may not be the case this year, so just keep your eyes peeled for any of these possible finds, even when they are not known to be "in season" as you may get extra lucky! And its a good idea to keep notes on what kinds you found where and what they were found in association with (once you have identified them), so you can more easily find them again in subsequent years.
